Triage

We offer a Total Triage service

We are proud to deliver a comprehensive Total Triage service, ensuring that every patient interaction is efficiently assessed by a GP. Our user-friendly online form allows patients to submit their needs at any time, often receiving a response within minutes, removing the need to call at 8am or wait in a queue.

Introduced in 2022, this system replaced the traditional ‘first-come, first-served’ model, which often led to long phone queues and inconsistent appointment availability. Our triage approach enables GPs to direct patients to the most appropriate care quickly, ensuring urgent needs are prioritised and everyone receives timely support.

With more patients choosing online access, our team can make accurate and rapid decisions, improving access to care while reducing pressure on staff. Our secure online system handles clinical, non-clinical, and administrative enquiries efficiently and confidentially.

The service is designed to enhance the healthcare experience for all patients. The form is simple to use, with clear instructions, making it accessible even for those less familiar with technology. By providing detailed information, patients help our clinicians offer more personalised and effective advice.

Patients can still contact us by phone or visit the surgery in person, our reception team is happy to help complete the form if needed. Friends, relatives, and carers are also welcome to submit enquiries on behalf of patients.

If you need help using the online service, our support team is available to guide you. While you can always call the surgery, completing the form yourself allows you to share important personal details directly with the clinical team.

Our goal is to provide a seamless, efficient, and patient-centred healthcare experience—ensuring every patient’s needs are met promptly and appropriately.

Total Triage vs Traditional GP Model

How Does Online Triage Work?

Step 1: Patients or their representatives submit an enquiry using our structured online consultation form. This covers a wide range of needs, including appointment requests, prescriptions, sick (fit) notes, and general queries.

Step 2: Our duty team of doctors promptly triage each request. Depending on the nature of the enquiry, you may receive a response via SMS, a phone call, or be offered a face-to-face appointment with the most appropriate clinician.

Step 3: Your needs are addressed efficiently, ensuring a timely and satisfactory outcome.
