Requests for appointments should be submitted through our online form.

By using the online form, you help keep our phone lines available for those without internet access, or who require additional assistance in contacting the surgery. If you are unable to complete our online form, you can call into the surgery or call 0114 2343561 / 0114 2347775 and a member of the reception team can complete the form on your behalf.

All online requests will generally be reviewed by one of the team the same day.  If your problem is assessed as urgent, you will be contacted the same day to arrange a review.  All other problems will be responded to in a timely manner decided by the clinical team.

If you need to rearrange an appointment scheduled for today or tomorrow, please call the surgery at 0114 234 3561 or 0114 234 7775.

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

Home visits are reserved for terminally ill patients or those who are truly bedbound, where traveling to the surgery by car would cause a deterioration in their medical condition or unacceptable discomfort. For common childhood symptoms, such as fevers, colds, coughs, earaches, headaches, diarrhea/vomiting, and most cases of abdominal pain, patients are generally well enough to travel by car. The belief that it is harmful to take a child out with a fever is a myth. While these children may not be able to travel by bus or walk to the surgery, car transport is a reasonable option and is usually available from friends, relatives, or a taxi.

If a home visit is needed, please contact the surgery before 11 am.

Doctors conduct home visits after their morning surgery sessions, arranging visits based on the urgency of the situation. Typically, doctors will contact patients prior to visiting and encourage them to attend the surgery if possible, as more facilities are available there. Difficulty in getting to the surgery is not a valid reason for requesting a home visit, and such requests may be declined.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if referred by your GP. Additionally, a health visitor will visit you at home if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years old.

To have this service you will need to consent to use. You can do this at registration or complete the SMS Reminder form

Sheffield NHS Walk-In Centre is based at the City GP Health Centre on Broad Lane and is open 8am - 10pm daily. You can attend this centre for treatment of minor illnesses, emergency contraception, sexual health and contraception advice and advice on health issues.

Sheffield Minor Injuries Unit at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Glossop Road, treats adults with injuries such as sprains, cuts and grazes.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
