Confidentiality and The Data
Protection Act We respect
your right to privacy and keep all your health information confidential
and secure. However, there will be occasions when the data needs to be
used for training purposes or audit, to ensure that patients receive the
best possible care, and that services offered by the Practice meet
required standards. In these cases, your written consent will be sought
with a full explanation of the proposed activity. We use anonymised data
when dealing with outside agencies such as the PCT (Primary Care Trust).
Some information may be shared with other relevant health care agencies
when necessary for patient care. Patients can ask to see their own
medical record or any other personal information held about them. For
further information contact the Practice Manager, or discuss it with
your doctor. |
