Health Care Assistants
The Health Care Assistants take blood
tests, blood pressure readings, do New Patient medicals and some health
checks. Please contact Reception to make an appointment.
Health Visitors
The Health Visitors are based at Shooters Grove Childrens Centre, Wood
Lane, Stannington, Sheffield S6 5HN. Their contact telephone number is
2854519. The Health Visitors can offer advice and support regarding baby
and pre-school child health, pregnancy health, family health, and
information regarding local facilities and national groups.
District Nurses
The District Nurses are trained to care for patients in their own homes,
and to provide to provide general health care and advice to them and
their carers. They also provide treatment at clinics in the surgery. For
clinic appointments and additional information please contact the
District Nurses on 2340884.
MIDWIFERY SERVICES
Please contact the Shooters Grove Children’s Centre on 2854519.
Clinics held on Tuesdays 10.00-2.00.
Counselling
These services are available each week, but are quite heavily
subscribed. Access to these is arranged by referral from the Doctor.
Counselling is only available at Walkley House, to which Stannington
patients can be referred. There is also a specialist Continence Physio,
Kate Reece, who visits the practice once or twice a month.
Minor Surgery
Minor Surgery is also carried out on the premises when the need arises,
including wart removal by cryotherapy (Dr Fitzgerald).
